Alright, we have come to the end of this conversation. We want to ask you Sara about what you can recommend or what you suggest to people who are just starting their giving journey. What are your practical tips for them? And anything more that you would want to say to encourage them?
Sara: What I do normally is to connect with people that are already in the field and are volunteering or working there. So that you can also get a sense of what it is. Again, it mostly follows something you're passionate about. If you can combine that with some of your passion, you wouldn't let it go. I mean if you're passionate about photography and there is an opportunity to volunteer as a photographer then you know when you combine the two things it wouldn't be different for you, right? It would be less intimidating because it's something you know how to do. Like you know how to take pictures—that could be your first step. Follow something you're passionate about and then build it from there. Get a sense of what the community is like. Yea, it's kind of like building it on a step-by-step kind of thing and look at whether there are already platforms that can allow you to search through and see what the openings are and what are the things that are needed.
Joanna: That's good! So first is to look for your passion, identify your passion and then look for that opportunity where your passion is aligned with the need. Second is go to some orientation, get ready and be equipped basically. And Giving Is Social is one group that equips volunteers so they can be very effective volunteers or givers to these communities.
