Fundraising for The Oasis Foundation: A Home for Rescued and Abandoned Babies, and a Child Advocacy Centre (Thailand)The Oasis, as a Baby Home, provides a nurturing shelter for babies in Pattaya, Thailand who have been sold to trafficking rings, incarcerated, drugged, abused or abandoned by their parents. Started in 2016, it currently houses a small number of children (between 6-10) so that it simulates a family environment for the babies until repatriation or adoption is possible.
The Oasis, as a Child Advocacy Centre, operates as a drop-in centre after school where children who are at risk of abuse and trafficking can come in to talk to trusted adults, read with us, learn English, have a meal and a shower, and play, and still be able to go home to their families in the evening. As cases of abuse are presented to us, we come together with various other groups from foreign and local law enforcement units, to social workers and NGOs. We all act as a multi-disciplinary team to decide how to move the case forward with the child’s best interests at heart. Learn more here: www.theoasis-foundation.com.
