6 MILLIONORPHANED, ABANDONED, AND NEGLEGTED CHILDREN IN THE PHILIPPINES
|
Generations–Home is a non-profit organisation that advocates for adoption. It believes that adoption is a beautiful solution to the orphan crisis in the Philippines.
Generations–Home's response is to develop programmes that provide holistic care for Pregnant Women in Crisis (PWIC), to rescue babies before they are abandoned and disowned, and to guide and support families in their adoption journey. Its PWIC programme focuses on orphan prevention, while its advocacy work focuses on raising awareness for orphan care in the Philippines. As a Child Placement Agency, Generations–Home can now facilitate adoptions and license foster families in the Philippines. |
The Work of the Generations–HomeFAMILY PRESERVATION
Due to heartbreaking circumstances like poverty, calamity, personal struggles, and more, there are mothers that have a hard time with providing the basic needs of their child. They are sometimes driven to aborting, abandoning, or trafficking their child out of desperation. Through the Pregnant Women in Crisis (PWIC) Program, Generations–Home aims to care for mothers, protect their children from harm, and keep families together. ADVOCACY Given the harsh realities, stigmas, and stereotypes surrounding adoption and foster care, Generations–Home equips families and empower communities to open their hearts and homes to the orphaned and abandoned. They create avenues to cultivate environments where everyone can contribute to creating a culture that celebrates adoption and foster care in the Philippines. ADOPTION AND FOSTER CARE There are 6 million orphaned, abandoned, and neglected children in the Philippines, deprived of the right to grow up in a loving family. We can help break this generational cycle of neglect and abandonment when we bring more orphans into families. Through Generations–Home's Child Placement Agency, they journey with families as they build themselves through adoption and foster care. |
